A Busy Thanksgiving Week

To begin the week of Thanksgiving this year, we got out and decorated the house with Christmas lights. Years ago, the family used to put up a ton of lights – including one year when we spent hours crawling around the roof hooking up lights everywhere. Since then we have scaled back a bit, but we took advantage of after-Christmas sales over the last few years and stocked up on lights and decorations. On Saturday and Sunday the boys helped pull them out and daddy put up two Christmas-tree-shaped light structures on the front of the house.
Tuesday night we traveled to New York to visit Gramma and Uncle Scott and it was a great time. We did not take time to visit the city (that will have to wait for warmer weather) but we did stop by the beach to get out and stretch our legs after a long road trip. On Wednesday night we celebrated Uncle Scott’s birthday. We had an excellent Thanksgiving on Thursday (of course nobody thought to bring cameras) and enjoyed visiting with the whole family. Uncle Pat, Aunt Penney, Kristin, Brandon, Mason and Amber all came up from Delaware. Gramma cooked and we all ate until we couldn’t eat any more.

On Friday we headed back home and then on Saturday we did some more decorating for Christmas. All of the tubs filled with decorations were opened up and up went the full Chrismas scene. The tree, a Christmas village and all sorts of decorations now adorn the house inside and out.
