Snow and Ice
Posted on January 28th, 2009 No comments
Winter storm time here – snow then sleet then freezing rain then sleet then rain then snow. A wintery mess and a few days off school for the boys, but they seemed to enjoy it, since . Even Sarah and Mommy got into the act, running around the back yard and sliding across the snow.Next comes the fun task of digging out from the ice!

Ski Bums
Posted on January 21st, 2009 1 commentDaddy and the boys went skiing this weekend. Even though they had never tried it before, by the time evening rolled around they were going down the hill like old pros. The boys ignored the cold for the most part and just enjoyed the snow.

Travel Notices Are Here!
Posted on December 26th, 2006 No commentsApparently, they dug out in Denver and got our notice at last! They are requesting an appointment that would have us leaving on January 11. Very exciting!
Now the US Consulate has a week to respond, so we’re not totally sure yet.
We’ll post more as soon as we know.

How Snow 1100 Miles Away Can Effect Your Week
Posted on December 23rd, 2006 No commentsEarlier this week, Denver (1108 miles from here according to Google Maps) got about two feet of snow in a 2-day blizzard. It pretty much shut down the city for 3 days. Here at home meanwhile it got into the upper 60′s and we had no snow, but the blizzard hit us hard anyway.
We’re waiting for travel notices from China, which let us make our US Consulate appointment and set our travel dates. Several online sources said they should be arriving on Thursday or Friday. The kicker here is that our adoption agency is in Denver, so the notices couldn’t get through! AAARRRGGGHHHH! All we really want for Christmas is Sarah to come home! That snow storm really threw a cramp in our week.
Well, hopefully on Boxing Day we’ll get notification that the travel notices are in and the first step in the travel planning process is complete. Then hopefully before New Year’s, we’ll have approximate travel dates. No more snow, please.
